Prince Albert wrestlers lock up medals at provincials

The best high schools wrestlers Saskatchewan locked up this weekend in Saskatoon at the High School Provincial Championships and Prince Albert was well represented.

Athletes from both Carlton Comprehensive and St. Mary came away with a number of medals.

From Carlton, both Noah Remy and Kayley Clarke won gold.

In her final match, Remy faced an opponent from Regina’s O’Neill high school and won by fall at 2:31.

Clarke in turn faced an opponent from Regina’s Riffel high school and won by fall at 2:47.

St. Mary High School finished third overall for points behind Walter Murray and Holy Cross.

Winning gold for the school were Sarah Murphy, Nathan Kowal and Owen Ferchuk.

Murphy, who was undefeated through five opponents, won her final match by fall. Ferchuk won by tech fall 10-0; and Kowal won by decision.

Nate Dupuis and Cam Neudorf won bronze.
