Healing together

Prince Albert round dance marks important anniversary and celebrates women

Mar 10, 2024 | 10:00 AM

Hundreds of people packed into the Prince Albert Grand Council’s Urban Services building Saturday night for a special feast and round dance.

The family event was hosted by the Northern Lights Casino. Noting it was just one day removed from International Women’s Day, the casino’s acting general manager Angela Isbister confirmed their theme was honouring our women.

“But the round dance is essentially a big celebration. We are celebrating 28 years of success in the community,” she said.

Acknowledging the thousands of dollars the casino has given back over the years to the community in the form of donations and sponsorships, Isbister also agreed, when asked, that there’s a visible hurt in the community and a desire to do more.

“We’re in this together so we are all healing together”, she said. “It’s just awesome to share our success with our community.”

Among the dignitaries in the crowd was Prince Albert Police Deputy Chief Farica Prince.

Two other members of the police service were also on hand and assisted with the serving of the feast.
