Storm warning

Winter come lately – snowfall warning for central, northeast Sask.

Feb 29, 2024 | 6:00 PM

Winter may be late but it is reminding people in Central and Northeast Saskatchewan that it is a fickle master and will be dumping between 10 and 15 cms of snow before Friday morning.

The alert covers Pinehouse Lake, Lac La Ronge, Candle Lake, Narrow Hills, Montral Lake, Prince albert National Park and Pelican Lake and Sandy Bay.

It will also hit the Hanson Lake are including Creighton, Cumberland House and Southend.

The weather will move in overnight on Thursday and the alert is expected to be over by morning.

In Prince Albert, light snow is expected but not the volumes slightly to the north, or more to the south.

Another system in southern Saskatchewan may affect travellers, starting south of the Yellowhead (Highway 16) and heading eastward throughout the day.

That system is expected to bring 10 to 20 cms but can reach up to 30 cms in some pockets.
