Drinking water advisory in effect for Village of Smeaton

A village northeast of Prince Albert is asking residents to boil their water until further notice.

The Water Security Agency said a recent power outage in the Village of Smeaton led to system depressurization and the quality of the water can’t be ensured.

Originally the outage forced the Village to shut down the water. It was eventually turned back on but now residents are asked to boil water for at least a minute before using.
