Saskatchewan’s agri-food exports continue to break records.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Saskatchewan’s agri-food exports added up to $20.2 billion in 2023, marking the fourth year of record-setting exports in the sector.

The hottest export commodities in agri-food for 2023 were non-durum wheat, canola seed, canola oil, lentils and canola meal, the ministry said. The top international markets for Saskatchewan agri-food were the United States, China, Japan, Mexico and Algeria.

Jeremy Harrison, Saskatchewan’s trade and export development minister, said that figure surpasses the $20-billion target included in the province’s growth plan and shows strong global demand for the province’s products.
