Harpauer explains decision not to seek re-election
The longest-serving female cabinet minister in Canadian history has decided she’s ready to step away.
Finance Minister and Humboldt-Watrous MLA Donna Harpauer announced this week that she will not be running in this year’s provincial election.
Harpauer told northeastNOW it was time to step away.
“By the end of this year it will be 25 years (as an MLA) and there comes a time when you’ve got to say ‘okay, maybe I’m past my best-before date,” Harpauer said.
