U14 En Fuego win bronze at Sask Cup

The Prince Albert Optimist Toppers U14 En Fuego squad is starting their season off on the right foot.

They were among 50 teams competing last weekend at the Sask. Cup tournament in Warman and Saskatoon and finished third.

The team was actually ranked fourth after round robin play, but gelled much better in the playoffs and appeared to find a fresh burst of confidence.

After knocking off Regina’s QCVC Elite in the first round, En Fuego then faced Lloydminster’s Momentum Black in the semi-finals and just narrowly lost out, falling 25-20 and 25-23.

They then faced Watrous VC for the bronze and won both games, 25-22 , 26-24.

5th- Regina QCVC Royal Elite

7th- Lloydminster Momentum VC Red
8th- Saskatoon Wolfpack VC White
9th- Lanigan VC

The U16 En Fuego squad also played this past weekend and finished seventh at their tournament.
