Prince Albert bowlers secure spots at provincials

With the opportunity on the line to represent Prince Albert at Provincials, the best bowlers in the area faced off this past weekend.

The two-day open qualifier tournament at the Minto Bowl and Rec Centre featured a total of 30 athletes. There were nine games played on Saturday, followed by another nine on Sunday.

The men’s and ladies teams were drawn up by the top six bowlers from each division, and the top three also competed in singles. The next three qualifiers (7,8,9) make the mixed team.

Here are the weekend’s final results: (18 game average in brackets)

Ladies Team is: Dawn Mardell (241.83), Cora-Lee White-Furi (239.44), Christa Mulhall (236.22),Taryn Dumont (235.33), Tamara Hamilton (229.83), Carol Paetsch (227.33) and Coach Lawrence Holizki.

Men’s team: Justin Vansil (267.67), Sean Dieno (261.61), Dallas Vandale (256.89), Brian Earl (255.67), Zach Nilson (248.06), Taylor Trach (247.78) and Coach Susan Polowsi

Mixed team: Dakota Massey (226.56), Meirah Bender (216), Jamie Szocs (215.11), Lonny Akers (247.56), Jack Mukli (247.06), Dannyll Challis (243.39) and Coach Tracy Pitt.

Provincials are scheduled to roll from March 28 to March 30 in Saskatoon.
