Man charged after fleeing from police, possessing ammunition despite court order

A dangerous driving incident in Prince Albert has resulted in one arrest and several charges being laid.

Police said on Monday, officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 100 Block of River Street West. As officers approached the vehicle though, the driver sped away, driving at fast speeds and nearly collided with another vehicle.

The driver, who was on a court-ordered firearms prohibition, was found and arrested by members of the Combined Traffic Safety Services unit a short time later.

Police searched his vehicle and found ammunition.

The 33-year-old man now faces dangerous driving charges and possession of ammunition while prohibited.

He made his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Tuesday morning.
