Rallies planned for second strike by Sask. teachers

Students will once again be out of school on Monday as Saskatchewan teachers hold their second one-day strike.

The previous one happened this past Tuesday and in Prince Albert, teachers from 45 schools in the area picketed in the Cornerstone shopping area.

They will be back at the same location on Monday. All told, 35 picket locations have been named across the province.

A list of where each rally will take place can be found below:

  • La Ronge – Mistasinihk Place
  • Cumberland House – Cumberland House Health Centre
  • Pinehouse – Pinehouse Post office
  • La Loche – La Loche Friendship Centre
  • Beauval – Parking lot near Beauval General Store
  • Buffalo Narrows – Tim Hortons/Northern Store
  • Meadow Lake- North Corner of HWY 55 and HWY 4
  • Sandy Bay – Sandy Bay Catholic Church
  • Ile-a-la-Crosse – Elders Lodge
  • Creighton – Prospector Inn
  • Meadow Lake – South Meadow Lake Museum
  • Meadow Lake – North Corner of HWY 55 and HWY 4
  • St. Walburg – In the public park along HWY 26 between 1st and 2nd Ave
  • Lloydminster – In front of Border Inn & Suites
  • Prince Albert – The public boulevard between Arby’s and Scotiabank, and the office of MLA Alana Ross.
  • Nipawin – 4 corners of HWY 35 and Centre St.
  • Melfort – Office of MLA Todd Goudy
  • Tisdale – Along HWY3 in front of Tim Hortons and the Co-op Grocery Store
  • North Battleford – Office of Education Minister Jeremy Cockrill
  • Warman – Warman Home Centre Communiplex

Each of the rallies will happen from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
