Dr. Hazem Hussein – Coach Dedication Award

Dr. Hazem Hussein, the Head Coach of the Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club, stands as a distinguished figure in the realm of swimming coaching.

His remarkable 12-year tenure with the Prince Albert Sharks has not only earned him the respect of his peers but has also led to numerous accolades and achievements.

Dr. Hussein’s commitment and expertise were recognized with a nomination for the coach dedication award in Saskatchewan, a testament to his unwavering dedication to the sport.

Under his leadership, the Prince Albert Sharks achieved the prestigious Top Club award in the Junior Provincial Championship in 2013 and secured the title of Top Small Club on three consecutive occasions.

The club has produced National, Western, Provincial, Junior Provincial, and Masters medalists, with several Masters swimmers holding provincial records. Dr. Hazem Hussein brings a wealth of academic qualifications to his coaching role, holding a Ph.D. in sports physiology and a post-doctorate specializing in molecular exercise physiology.

He serves as an Exercise Physiologist Consultant for the Sports Medicine and Science Council of Saskatchewan and holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Saskatchewan Coaches Association. His expertise has extended beyond coaching, as he has been invited as a keynote speaker at the University of Saskatchewan, Canadian Swimming Coaches Association, Sports Medicine and Science Council conferences, and international conferences.

Dr. Hussein firmly believes that the amalgamation of academic prowess and coaching experience forms a potent combination for unlocking the full potential of athletes.

Expressing his gratitude for the nomination, Dr. Hussein stated, “I’m really pleased and feel very proud to be nominated for this award. It’s such a great payoff for years of dedication and devotion in sports coaching.”

His acknowledgment reflects the passion and commitment that Dr. Hazem Hussein brings to the world of swimming coaching and athlete development.
