Members of the Prince Albert wrestling club travelled to Calgary this past weekend for a special camp and tournament.

The three girls and eight boys competed at the Jurassic Classic, which was held at the University of Calgary and featured a number of different weight categories.

Here are the local results:

Kayley Clarke: 5th

Three other male athletes competed, and while they did not place, displayed some impressive skills on the mat. Those athletes were Hayden Cyr, Nathan Kowal and Trent Robillard.

Saturday’s competition marked the club’s first of the year and third of the season. Members are now busy preparing for a trip to Swift Current at the end of the month.

There were 87 females and 130 males for a total of 217 athletes at the Jurassic Classic tournament that occurred on Jan. 6. There were 27 teams registered.
