Several charities in Canada are getting some extra funding thanks to the Brandt Group of Companies.

The manufacturing and distribution company, which supports multiple sectors including agriculture, is donating $275,000 through the Thanks A Billion Holiday Fund.

The Canadian Cancer Society ($97,500), Canadian Mental Health Association ($78,000), Ronald McDonald House Charities ($55,500), Make a Wish Canada ($26,000), and Salvation Army of Canada ($18,000) will split the funds.

“We are so grateful to be included as one of the charities of choice,” said Phyillis O’Connor, the executive director of the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Saskatchewan Division. “Brandt’s donation will ensure quality programming to support those living with mental illness and those who wish to maintain their mental wellness.”

The five charities were chosen by Brandt employees who were allowed to vote for their favourite charities.

“We are very grateful to our customers, employees, and the communities where they live and work,” added Matt Semple, Brandt Senior Vice President of Marketing. “Our Thanks A Billion Holiday Fund is our way of saying ‘thank you’. And there’s no time like the holiday season to do that.”

Meanwhile, charities in the USA, Australia, and New Zealand are also getting funding as Brandt has several locations in each country.

In total, the company is donating $500,000 across all four countries.
