Stryker Zablocki is headed across the pond for her next stint with Hockey Canada.

Earlier this week, the Prince Albert product was named to Team Canada for the U18 Women’s World Championships in Zug, Switzerland slated for early January.

Back in August, the 16-year-old was one of 46 players named to the U18 National Team and got the opportunity to play Team USA in a mini three-game series in Lake Placid, New York. Zablocki had a single assist during her time there and helped Canada take down the USA in the series, winning all three games.

Now, she’s cracked the official roster and is one of 23 players to travel to the Championships. The Northeastern University commit is also the only player from Saskatchewan on the team as well as one of the youngest. She is one of five players to be born in 2007 while everyone else was born in 2006.

She is currently in her sophomore year with the Regina Rebels in the SFU18AAAHL and leads the league in points so far this season with 18 goals and 15 assists in 14 games, which is 14 points more than second place.

Last season in her rookie year, she scored 40 points (25g, 15a) in 30 games while helping the Rebels to an Esso Cup appearance. Regina went on to capture bronze at the National Championship and finished the tournament 12th in scoring with three goals and four assists.

Zablocki will help Canada go for three straight gold medals at the Championships and begin the quest to international glory on Jan. 6 against Germany with a 1:00 p.m. puck drop Saskatchewan time. The tournament wraps up on Jan. 14.
