The Prince Albert Raiders (15-13-0-2) are set to embark on a four-game homestand on Friday night when they welcome the Calgary Hitmen (11-13-3-0) to the Art Hauser Centre for the final time this season.

The Raiders are coming off a successful three-in-three weekend, which saw them wrap up the trip last weekend with a 5-2 win in Calgary. Also on the trip, P.A. picked up a 4-3 shootout win against Swift Current and suffered their only loss in Medicine Hat falling 6-2.

Prince Albert is 2-3 in their last five games and 4-5-0-1 in their last 10. Meanwhile, the Hitmen are entering the game on a two-game skid with losses to P.A. on Sunday and a narrow 6-5 loss to Swift Current on Wednesday. Calgary is also 1-4 in their last five and 4-5-0-1 in their last 10. The lone win in their last five games came last Friday when the Hitmen downed Medicine Hat 7-3.

Following the game, the Raiders are back in action on Saturday night for the team’s annual Teddy Bear Toss game against the Red Deer Rebels. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m.

Who to Watch

Veteran Sloan Stanick continues to impress in his senior season. The pride of Rapid City, Man. leads the team in the points department with 35 (10g, 25a) this season, which includes 16 points (5g, 11a) in 10 of his last twelve games. That stretch also had five straight multi-point games. The 20-year-old has also seen success against Calgary this season with a goal and an assist.

Forward Hayden Pakkala earned second-star honours in the Raiders’ last game on Sunday. The Okotoks, Alta. product potted a goal and two assists to bring his season totals to 14 points (5g, 9a). He is now on pace to reach 33 points this season, 10 more than his career high of 23.

The Calgary native has 23 points (8g, 15a) already this season, which tied his career-high set last season. Acquired from the now-defunct Winnipeg ICE midway through last season, the 18-year-old has scored 46 of his 54 career points with the Raiders with the most recent coming last game when he assisted on Eric Johnston’s first-period marker.
