A woman charged with dangerous driving causing death appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday morning and remains in custody,

Kayla Ashley Walker, 22, is also charged with a second count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

She was denied release until a bail hearing – set for December 6 – where she will appear by video.

The Crown prosecutor elected to proceed by the more serious method of indictment.

Walker was charged following a collision on Saturday, December 2 in which a 30-year-old woman was killed.

The victim has been identified as Daniellea Clarke. The driver of the vehicle in which Clarke was a passenger, a 53-year-old man, was taken to Victoria Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Prince Albert Police said the two-vehicle collision happened just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Central Avenue and 28th Street West, near the Kinsmen Park.

The major crimes unit along with the Forensic Identification Section and the RCMP’s collision reconstructionist were called to assist with the investigation.

PAPS is asking any member of the public that may have witnessed the collision to call 306-953-4222 as the investigation is ongoing.
