“We were hoping for a really good result, and this surpassed all of our expectations,” said Cody Barnett, the CEO of the Boreal Healthcare Foundation.

Hundreds of donations were collected over a 12-hour span. This included a $20,000 donation from Ruszkowski Enterprises.

“My family has been in P.A. for well over 60 years… we’ve relied on healthcare. Myself, my family, pretty well everyone I know, so we really believe in what (the Boreal Healthcare Foundation) is doing,” said Adam Ruszkowski, Manager of Ruszkowski Enterprises.

Other groups that donated include Lake Country Co-op, the Emma Lake Golf Course, Broda Group, and Hope’s Home.

The funds will specifically be used to update and replace medical equipment.

“Everything from visualization tools for the ICU to vein viewers for pediatrics, so there’s some incredible pieces of equipment coming,” said Barnett.

Other needs include a Metro Code Crash Cart for Cardiology, a breast milk fridge, and a Bipap machine which will help supply pressurized air to those struggling to breath.

The next step will be identifying what is needed now and what can wait.
