Ahtahkakoop man killed in hit and run incident
A 26-year-old man has been killed outside of Cut Knife following on Highway 40 following an alleged hit and run.
According to a news release, the accident happened in the evening of November 24 and emergency responders and police responded to the scene where the injured man was declared deceased.
He has since been identified as being a resident of Ahtahkakoop First Nation, and his family has been notified.
An investigation is ongoing and RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver and vehicle as they were not on scene. If anyone was traveling east of Cut Knife on Highway 40 between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m., call the Cut Knife RCMP at 306-398-3500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
