Woman suffers serious injuries after being shot in Montreal Lake Cree Nation

RCMP are investigating a shooting on Montreal Lake Cree Nation.

Officers received a report of an injured person on the reserve on Friday morning at around 5:20.

They ended up finding a woman suffering from serious injuries.

RCMP said an altercation broke out between two people and a firearm was discharged. It wasn’t clear if the woman was part of the altercation or a bystander. There’s also no update on her current condition.

At this time, police don’t believe there’s a risk to the public’s safety.
