Raiders close out U.S. road trip with shootout loss to Wild

Nov 20, 2023 | 10:19 AM

The Prince Albert Raiders ended their long U.S. road trip with a nail-biter in Wenatchee against the Wild.

The Raiders came back from 3-1 down to tie the game but couldn’t muster a goal in overtime or the shootout as the Wild skated away with a 4-3 victory.

Krzysztof Macias scored the first goal for the Raiders which tied the game in the first period with an assist from Niall Crocker.

Eric Johnston had a pair of goals in the third period to bring the Raiders level with the Wild. Sloan Stanick, Brayden Dube, and Harrison Lodewyk had the assists for those two goals.

In the shootout, Aiden Oiring, Ryder Ritchie, and Sloan Stanick failed to capitalize on their chances leaving Conor Geekie to score the winning goal for the Wild.

With that game, the Raiders wrapped up a long, seven-game road trip with four wins, two losses and a shootout loss.

They currently stand 13-10-0-2 on the season so far, sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference behind Medicine Hat and Saskatoon.

The team is returning to Canada and will hit the ice on November 25 as they welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors to the Art Hauser Centre.

Before that game, Raiders legend Dan Hodson will have his number 16 retired.

Puck drop for Saturday’s game is set for 7 p.m.
