Totally rad: Great Escape 26 brings back the party

Much like the 80’s fashion trends, Power 99’s Great Escape party made a triumphant return Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre’s Ches Leach lounge.

The event marked the first time in four years an actual in-person party was held. And roughly 200 guests showed up, donning their favourite retro fashions.

The grand prize winner of the night was Prince Albert’s Ashley Chester who won a $5,000 travel voucher. Her name was the last to be pulled from a bucket filled with 99 entries.

“I’m still in disbelief,” she said when contacted by paNOW on Saturday.

While still thinking about where she wants to go, Chester explained she would like to take her three children (18, 8, 5) to a kid friendly resort for a hot vacation.

Runner-up Kara Settee won a Boston Pizza Yeti package, tickets to the upcoming Journey concert and a Lake Country Co-Op gift card.

Thanks to a plethora of sponsors, dozens of prizes were given out throughout the night and guests were kept well fed, before busting some moves on the dance floor.

By all accounts, Great Escape 26 was totally awesome.
