Raiders welcome Pats to Art Hauser Centre

Oct 20, 2023 | 10:59 AM

Playing their best hockey of the season so far, the Prince Albert Raiders are getting set for another busy weekend at the Art Hauser Centre.

It begins Friday when the Raiders host the Regina Pats. Both teams are playing well, with the Raiders (6-3-0-1) picking up points in their last five games, while the Pats (7-3-1-0) have won four straight games heading into the night. Friday marks the second meeting of the season between the two clubs, with the Raiders winning 4-3 back on Sept. 29.

Who to Watch

Raiders top centre Aiden Oiring has been a force of late, with his name on the scoresheet in the last five games. The top line of Oiring, Ryder Ritchie, and Sloan Stanick should give fans plenty more to cheer about this weekend.

Newly-acquired defenceman Jacob Hoffrogge has added a new dimension to the Raider’s defence core. The former Oil King loves to jump up into the rush and is also a focal point on the powerplay. Look for Hoffrogge to play alongside NHL prospect Terrell Goldsmith again this weekend.

Prince Albert’s goaltending tandem of Chase Coward and Max Hildebrand is becoming one of the best duos in the entire Western Hockey League. Both goaltenders are giving the green and gold a chance to win every night regardless of who is in the net.

Finally, Raiders sniper Ryder Ritchie was named the WHL Player of the Week for his efforts last weekend in picking up six points in three games.

Friday will also be a special night at the Art Hauser Centre as the Raiders will honour longtime community staple Bruce Vance before the game, as he goes into the team’s Wall of Honour.

If you can’t make it to the rink, you can listen to Friday’s game on 900 CKBI beginning at 6:30 with the pre-game show.

The Raiders conclude their weekend when they host Moose Jaw on Saturday.
