Nominees announced for upcoming Tri-Community Awards Gala

Nominations for the upcoming Tri-Community Awards Gala have been announced.

Eleven people have been nominated for the prestigious Citizen of the Year: Brandi Bell, Matthew Maurer, Christopher Merasty, Greg Lobb, Rhonda Vancoughnett, Genevieve Kustiak, Kevin Roberts, Kyle Sephton, Hannah Bathgate, Stephanie Young, and Jody Laliberte.

Nominees for Non-Profit of the Year are NorthSask Special Needs, Northern Animal Rescue, Camp Sask Arts, La Ronge Elks, and Children North ECIP, while nominees for Business of the Year (one to five employees) are Lavish Pizza, JAM Automotive, Nikik Digital Solutions, Electric Waves, North Shield Electric, The Source, Mosquito Workshop, Mayo Auto Clinic, La Ronge General Store, No Limits Goaltending, Boreal Colours and Against the Grain Wild Rice.

Those up for Business of the Year (six or more employees) are RONA, NorthWinds Bus Lines, and Abben Plumbing and Heating, while those nominated for Employee of the Year are Kaytlyn Wheaton, Adam Luciak, Jyl Debryne, Josh McDermott, Taryn Roske, Theresa Powder, Linda Arcand and Hannah Bathgate.

Nominees for Employer of the Year are La Ronge EMS, as well as Northern Sport, Culture and Recreation, while Entrepreneur of the Year nominees are Matthew Maurer, Joseph Arcand, Christopher Merasty, Dallas Everest, Karli Carr, and Matt Preston.

Those nominated for the Hugh Watt Legacy Award are Matthew Maurer, Graham Guest, Matthew Klassen, and Garry and Carleen Grant.

The Tri-Community Awards Gala, hosted by the Lac La Ronge Chamber of Commerce, will be held Oct. 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Jonas Robertson Memorial Community Centre.
