Six longhorn cattle have been stolen in southern Alberta.

Strathmore RCMP and the Southern Alberta Livestock Investigation Unit are now looking for help from the public to find the person(s) responsible for the theft in Wheatland County.

On the evening of Aug. 22 or the morning of Aug. 23, the cattle were taken from a pasture located near Highway 564. It is believed a truck and trailer was used in the theft.

The cattle are described as a mix of red/black steers and heifers weighing approximately 600 pounds each. The animals had purple management tags.
