CHARGES LAID

Two people charged in connection with the death of Tristan Chaboyer

Aug 24, 2023 | 11:29 AM

Nearly three years after a man disappeared, Prince Albert police have made a pair of arrests.

In September of 2020, Tristan Chaboyer was reported missing to police. The disappearance was eventually deemed a homicide.

Court records show Chaboyer was supposed to have an appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Sept. 9 for which he did not appear. At the time of his disappearance, Chaboyer was living in Prince Albert and worked at Star House Restaurant.

In August of 2021, police confirmed that human remains found in a wooded area northeast of the city were those of Chaboyer.

His mother, Debbie Chaboyer, told paNOW that his clothes were found in an area behind Victoria Hospital and there was blood on them. A DNA test confirmed the blood was Chaboyer’s.

On Thursday, police confirmed that Kyle Charles, 45, and Harley Bear, 28, had been arrested and charged with Accessory After the Fact to Murder. Both made their first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Thursday.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be given as they develop.
