Air quality alerts continue for much of Saskatchewan

Aug 16, 2023 | 9:32 AM

Much of Saskatchewan will remain in a smoky haze Wednesday as wildfire smoke lingers.

Environment and Climate Change Canada continued special air quality alerts for parts of northern and central Saskatchewan, but alerts were lifted for southern communities, including Regina.

The agency said air quality will deteriorate through the day as another plume of smoke drops southwards through the province. Conditions are expected to improve on Thursday.

This round of wildfire smoke is coming from forest fires in northern Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories.
