SaskEnergy conducting natural gas flaring in St. Louis area
People around the Village of St. Louis and the Rural Municipality (RM) of St. Louis may see a large flame for several hours this week.
SaskEnergy is conducting controlled natural gas flaring at the TransGas St. Louis Compressor Site on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During this process, a section of the gas line will be isolated from the system with natural gas being released through a controlled burn. This also reduces the carbon footprint of the vented gas by around 85 per cent.
SaskEnergy says this is necessary as it supports the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to its customers.
