Riders make trade for QB Antonio Pipkin, send Kaare Vedvik to Hamilton
With quarterback injuries mounting for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the CFL team has traded for another arm.
On Sunday, the Riders sent global punter Kaare Vedvik to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in exchange for pivot Antonio Pipkin.
Saskatchewan already lost Trevor Harris for the long term due to a knee injury and Mason Fine suffered a leg injury in the Riders’ 41-12 loss to the Montreal Alouettes on Friday. Jake Dolegala and Shea Patterson were the only other two quarterbacks Saskatchewan had on the roster, with Patterson limited in practice due to a knee injury.
Pipkin signed with Hamilton in July and dressed for two games. This season, Pipkin has yet to throw a pass.
