Jail time for drunk man that hit Central Ave. bridge in April

The man who was driving the white pickup that took out a portion of the guard rail on the Central Avenue Bridge near the Court of Kings Bench started a 33-day jail sentence Friday morning.

Dylan Morin, 28, was in Prince Albert Provincial Court facing charges of impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

On April 18, 2023, police first received a report that Morin was throwing objects just before 1:30 am in the 400 Block of 19 Street East.

He then got in a white Dodge Ram and drove west on the street, colliding with multiple parked vehicles before heading south on Central Avenue.

There, he hit the viaduct and continued on to TJ’s Pizza.

Officers found the truck parked out front while Morin waited inside for his food, visibly intoxicated.

He became belligerent when officers arrested him and did not cooperate with demands, including giving a breath sample or entering the jail cell.

Morin apologized to the people of the city and to the woman who first filed the complaint, saying he was sorry for his actions.

Because it was a second offence, Judge Healey ordered Morin to serve 33 days in jail, which will be done as part of the intoxicated driver program and also gave him a two-year driving ban.
