RCMP find man who escaped from Willow Cree Healing Lodge back in May

Buffalo Narrows RCMP have recaptured an inmate who escaped from the Willow Cree Healing Lodge on Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation.

Dane Woodward was apprehended on Aug. 7, nearly three months to the day he went missing back in May.

He was serving a sentence of two years and five months for robbery, identity fraud, flight from peace officers, driving while prohibited, and failing to comply with a probation order.

Meanwhile, the Correctional Service of Canada and Willow Cree Healing Lodge are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
