Summer fair prepares for busy weekend

There is no shortage of attractions at this year’s summer fair in Prince Albert, and if you are not paying attention some of them pass right by you.

Eric “The Juggler” Miller from Burns Lake has been a popular sight for people walking the grounds. This year marks his second year at the fair.

“It’s a big fair for me to do, I enjoy it here, the people are nice,” he said when asked what it means to be involved.

Joking that he works part-time back home as a math teacher, Miller said he grew up in Thunder Bay, Ont and learned to juggle when he was 14.

“I tell people now cell phones did not exist when I was a kid and so whenever I was anywhere and I was bored, instead of taking out a cell phone and scrolling the internet, I’d take out three juggling balls and juggle,” he said.

Eric the Juggler can be caught between the hours of noon and 8 p.m.

Other attractions happening Friday include the Chariot Races at 3 p.m; tractor pull at 3:30 p.m.; Chuckwagons at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday’s attractions include a demolition derby at 4 p.m.; and fireworks at 10:45 p.m. in the grandstand area.

The Midway is open both days from 1 p.m. to midnight.
