Kidzfest takes over Kinsmen Park

Jul 20, 2023 | 5:00 PM

The sound of children’s laughter filled the air at Kinsmen Park Thursday afternoon.

The 28th annual KidzFest featured a range of activities and games. Charlie Miller and her friend were trying out the tight rope walk and told paNOW KidzFest is a really cool event.

“Sometimes you see some people you know and there’s fun games to play and prizes to win,” she said.

In addition to the various games positioned around the field, there was also a dunk tank, face painting, and live entertainment on stage. With so much to see and do, it’s tough to know where to start, but fortunately Grayson Kaciuba was able to advise the bouncy castle.

“Because you can jump on them and do flips,” he explained.

Haley Gordon admitted to volunteering to be in the dunk tank, and even after going for a number of cold plunges, said she had no regrets about her decision.

“It’s so fun to see their faces when I go in,” she said. “I’m definitely cold but it’s so much fun.”

A number of community organizations were represented at the event including PA Outreach, Kids’ First, Family Futures, Performing Arts Warehouse and the Sask Rivers Public School Division.
