Two-day delay for start of bus to Little Red

It will be another two days before Prince Albert city buses begin their trial runs out to Little Red River Park.

The city announced today that there were unexpected mechanical issues and the temporary bus run will commence on Wednesday instead.

The purpose of the route is to increase access to the Little Red River Park and see how many people take advantage of being able to catch public transit.

If the numbers warrant, the route could become permanent.

The bus will run every 30 minutes starting on weekdays at 11:45 a.m. and ending at 7:45 p.m. On Saturdays, it will go from 9:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and it will not run at all on Sundays.

Three designated stops for the bus will include the transfer station downtown, Knotty Pine Bistro and the Little Red Playground, in the process of being completed.

The bus service was to have started today.
