Jun 26, 2023 | 11:45 AM

A man who has been on the run from police for nearly three months is behind bars and awaiting a bail hearing.

Dean Marchand’s attendance was waived for Monday morning’s brief hearing at Prince Albert Provincial Court. His lawyer requested and was granted an adjournment to Thursday. She indicated plans at that time to have a bail hearing.

According to court records, Marchand was located and arrested in Saskatoon on June 19.

He was one of five people charged after a drug raid last March north of Prince Albert.

Inside the trailer home, police 31.2 kilograms of cocaine and $55,000 in cash.

Police also seized a cutting agent, gun parts, ammunition, and “drug paraphernalia consistent with a large-scale drug trafficking operation.”

The estimated value of the cocaine is between $1.5 million to $4 million, depending on where it would be sold and the local prices.

Marchand’s charges include possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, and possession of prohibited ammunition. All four co-accused have pending court dates.

Gordon Greer-Vandale, 30, of Prince Albert and Jim Lakatos, 34, of North Battleford have both been charged with trafficking, possessing proceeds of crime over $5,000, having banned ammunition, and breaching release orders.

Santana Foulds, 27, of Saskatoon, and Spencer Evans, 27, of North Battleford, have the same charges except for the breach of a sentencing order.
