U15 Attack make history with city’s first provincial title in field lacrosse
The U15 Prince Albert Attack made history on Sunday afternoon, becoming the first field lacrosse team in the city’s history to win gold at provincials.
The Attack squared off with the Saskatoon Havoc in the championship game which saw PA come out on top 13-10.
“I’m pretty proud of all the kids,” said head coach Matt Robin. “A lot of them hadn’t experienced that and being able to win a championship is huge especially at a young age because it develops a better character for them as they grow up and they know now moving forward what it takes to win championships.”
Prince Albert went undefeated through the round-robin stage of the tournament, defeating the Yorkton Fighting Pikes 17-11 before cruising past Weyburn Rattlers in game two, 18-5. Their biggest win was yet to come as in game three, the Attack steamrolled the Cornerstone Chaos 19-2 to advance to the finals.
