Break-in to homicide victim’s house

The home of a recent victim of homicide on Oxbow Street near Prince Albert has since been broken into, RCMP have confirmed.

After multiple calls to the newsroom, paNOW reached out to police to confirm the information.

RCMP say they were told the home was broken into on June 9 at about 10 am.

Five days previous the body of Frank Lund, age 78, was found inside the home. Lund was a long-time firefighter for the Prince Albert Fire Department, serving from 1967 to 1992.

One second-degree murder charge has been laid against Justin Madden, age 40 in connection with Lund’s death.

All physical searches of the property related to Lund’s death had already been completed at the time of the break and enter, police say.

RCMP continue to investigate the homicide and break-in and ask anyone with information to call 306-765-5500.
