UPDATE: On June 14, Lake Country Co-op told paNOW that the fundraiser has sold out.

A first-of-its-kind event is coming to Prince Albert in support of KidSport.

The “Summer Solstice Pool Party” is scheduled to take place later this month at the Kinsmen Water Park.

Along with enjoying everything the water park has to offer, different activities on land and in water are being planned.

While the City of P.A. is putting on the event, Lake Country Co-op is helping it become a reality by sponsoring it.

“We are incredibly grateful to Lake Country Co-op for their generous sponsorship of the Summer Solstice Pool Party,” said Lauren Haubrich, Recreation Coordinator with the City of P.A.

People wanting to attend must donate at least $2 per person with the city hoping some will be enticed to give a little more to support KidSport which helps children from disadvantaged backgrounds play the sports they love.

“This event not only provides a fun-filled experience for families but also contributes to the mission of removing financial barriers and allowing all children to participate in sports across our city. We encourage everyone to join us and make a difference in the lives of children in need,” added Haubrich.

Those in attendance will also get a chance to meet one of P.A.’s best athletes. Brittany Hudak, a three-time paralympic medalist in Biathlon and Nordic Skiing, will be on hand to share the importance of groups like KidSport.

The fundraiser is slated for June 23rd from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
