Lakeland Lions give big donation to Christopher Lake Legion

The Christopher Lake Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion recently received a big show of support from the Lakeland Lions Club.

The local club recently donated just over $31,000 to the Legion thanks to sales from the last two years from their Chase The Ace Fundraiser.

The money will help support the renovations needed for the Legion building in the area.

Lakeland Lions President John Bolding said it may not seem like a large amount, but it will help the Legion nonetheless.

He added they are already working on raising more funds for another big, community project.

“This year we are dedicating most of our funds to adding to the skating rink that’s out here. They put a top on it, and they haven’t had money to finish the sides.”

The Lions Chase The Ace draw happens every Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Putters Lounge until the end of October.
