Our 4-H Club has been very busy these last couple of months! Let’s get caught up …

On February 20 th we joined up with the Meskanaw -Ethelton and Three Lakes 4-H Clubs to tour the Hi-Lite Feedlot for a very informational day. Thank you to the Stevenson family and their crew for sharing their knowledge on operating a feedlot and for your hospitality!

Thank you also to the Meskanaw club for hosting lunch and games after the tour. It was a great time for
members to have fun and make new friends.

We held our club speeches on February 25 th.

Congratulations to the following members that placed at our club level to move onto the district Level:
Cloverbud – Rhett Hansen
Junior – Hailey Njaa
Intermediate –Josh Sturby
Senior – Allie Porter

Congratulations to Hailey Njaa who won at district’s and moved on to compete at regional’s.

In April, we held both our hoof trimming and demo days.

Thank you to Olferts for hosting everyone for hoof trimming. We had our demo day at the Weldon arena.

The members worked with leaders, parents and senior members to work on their fitting and clipping skills and definitely “learned to do by doing” that day! These skills will help us head into our 4-H weekend
in June.

Our club would like to give a huge THANK YOU to all the businesses and individuals that supported our fundraising activities through our Facebook online auction and the lunch counter we supplied at the Birch Hills Curling Club.

Our Achievement Day this year will be held on June 10 th at the Weldon Arena and we welcome everyone to come and watch. Following that we will move into the Prince Albert Exhibition Grounds for the Prince Albert 4-H Finished Beef Show & Sale on June 11 th and 12 th.

If you are unable to attend, please feel free to join us online and watch all the Regional Show and Sale
events at www.dlms.ca.

It has been another great year and we couldn’t have done it with the help of all the leaders and
parents. Good luck to all our members as we head into the last stretch of our 4-H season.
