UPDATE: Canada Post lifted the Yellow Alert for the province on Thursday afternoon.

Canada Post has said the ongoing wildfire situation and poor air quality could affect mail delivery across Saskatchewan.

The company issued a Yellow Alert for the province on Wednesday, saying mail service could be delayed as it looks after the safety of its employees.

Red Alerts, meaning delivery has been suspended, are also in place for Buffalo Narrows, Patuanauk, Beauval, Clearwater, Île-à-la-Crosse, Island Lake and Turnor Lake.

Canada Post said that full delivery and postal services will resume once conditions improve and it’s safe to do so.
