City of Prince Albert implements fire ban effective immediately

May 16, 2023 | 4:28 PM

A fire ban is now in effect for the City of Prince Albert.

The ban is an extension of the ban on areas north of the North Saskatchewan River and the Little Red River Park.

All areas within city limits, north of the river including Hazeldell, Nordale, and property east of Little Red River Park to the city limits at the Pulp Haul Road are included.

No open fires are permitted for the duration of the ban which was issued due to the fire index’s current and predicted conditions.

If you wish to cook or warm up outside, you are permitted to use a self-contained heating device, gas barbecues, propane fire pits and charcoal briquettes in approved firepits.

Recreational use of approved fire pits within the city, south of the river, such as cooking fires in designated receptacles in Kinsmen Park is currently not affected by the ban.
