Prince Albert volleyball teams score medals at provincials

This past weekend was both busy and competitive for the U15 and U18 Prince Albert Volleyball teams, travelling to Saskatoon and Warman for Provincials.

The U18 Smashing Bananas Gold squad finished third at their tournament in Warman.

After going 4-0 in their respective pool, the Bananas faced Saskatoon Chaos in the first round of the playoffs and lost 25-22, 25-20.

In the bronze medal game, the Bananas faced RVC White and won 27-25, 25-20.

The U18 Black squad, who was 1-3 after pool play, finished in a tie for seventh.

Meanwhile the U15 Bananas were also in action and finished third at their tournament in Saskatoon. To win the bronze, the U15 team defeated Estevan Extreme 25-12, 25-19.

In the women’s divisions, the U15 Toppers En Fuego squad finished third in Div. 2 – Tier 1. After losing out to TCVC in the first round of the playoffs, En Fuego rallied to beat Momentum Red.

The U18 Toppers En Fuego squad played in Warman and finished sixth in Div. 2-Tier 3.

Through their Facebook page, the Prince Albert Optimist Toppers have confirmed their year end gala will take place on May 24, at Carlton Comprehensive High School. Doors open at 5 p.m.
