UPDATED: RCMP searching for teenager after serious assault on Birch Narrows Dene Nation

UPDATE: Christian Desjardin was arrested by Turnor Lake/Birch Narrows RCMP in Birch Narrows Saturday evening. He is scheduled to appear in court in La Loche on May 1, 2023.

Turnor Lake/Birch Narrows RCMP thank the media and members of the public for their assistance with this investigation.

Turnor Lake and Birch Narrows RCMP are working together to locate a 19-year-old, who seriously assaulted a youth with a knife on Friday.

Christian Desjardin is wanted on multiple charges after he attacked the youth, leaving him with serious injuries. He’s been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and uttering threats. Police add that he is also in breach of a conditional sentence order and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Desjardin is described as approximately 5’6” and 140 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black sweater, black pants, and white Adidas shoes with black stripes. It’s noted he also has an upside-down cross tattoo in the middle of his forehead, lettering under his left eye, and letters on his right knuckles.

It’s believed he may be hiding in a wooded area surrounding Birch Narrows, but he’s also been known to visit both Prince Albert and Saskatoon.

Police are reminding the public if they see Desjardin, do not approach him as he’s considered dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is being asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
