A new report suggests Prince Albert is one of the communities in Saskatchewan expected to be hit the hardest by climate change.

Ahead of Earth Day, happening on Apr. 22nd, BonusFinder wanted to determine what areas in the country would most likely experience the most negative impacts by 2050.

This includes the number of heatwaves and how long they last, days with temperatures over 30 degrees, and the amount of rain and snow annually.

Each province had its cities ranked with P.A. coming in fourth for Saskatchewan.

BonusFinder gave the city a score of around 35.54 out of 100 as they suggest heatwaves will be roughly two days longer in 2050, the temperature will spike above 30 degrees in around 12 days a year, while there will be around 0.35 fewer days with precipitation.

The only cities in Saskatchewan with worse scores were Moose Jaw (score of 57.86 out of 100), Regina (score of 55.34 out of 100), and Saskatoon (score of 41.5 out of 100).

These scores were nowhere near the top of the list for all of Canada. BonusFinder believes Parry Sound, Ont., will be hit the hardest in 2050. The town got a score of 80.2 out of 100. The top six places in Canada were all found in Ontario.

The five communities with the best scores are all in Western Canada. Campbell River had the lowest score of just 9.14 out of 100 with BonusFinder predicting the city will see its average temperature only rise by 1.44 per cent in 2050, while there will be nearly 0.70 more days with precipitation.
