Faulty equipment to blame for large power outage in P.A.

Apr 19, 2023 | 10:41 AM

Power is back on for hundreds of Prince Albert residents after multiple power outages on Tuesday.

The biggest one affected roughly 1,800 customers in the Crescent Heights area for about an hour.

SaskPower said that the outage was caused by a faulty piece of equipment.

Multiple outages were reported throughout the afternoon in West Flat, Nordale, Hazeldell and parts of downtown.

While power has been restored, Scott McGregor with SaskPower said you should always contact them if you experience an outage or any flickering lights.

“Whenever there is a lot of wind and precipitation that brings down tree branches, its possible that the customer’s service mast has been damaged.”

You can report all outages to SaskPower online or by calling 310-2220.
