Anti-Graffiti Paint Program returns Monday

Apr 16, 2023 | 10:00 AM

Prince Albert residents, who have been targeted by vandals, are receiving a fresh coat of support from City Hall.

The City’s Anti-Graffiti Paint Program returns Monday, and business owners and privately owned facilities are being encouraged to apply to receive one free paint kit.

Each kit includes one gallon of paint, one tray, one brush/roller and gloves, allowing the individual to paint over graffiti located on their own properties exterior surfaces.

According to Friday’s news release from City Hall, Free Anti-Graffiti Paint Kits are only available for as long as weather permits. Applications received when temperatures are below the freezing mark, will not be considered.

Property renters are reminded that the property owner must be the one to apply for the Program, and when possible, owners bring something to show proof of property ownership, like a tax receipt.

“It has been proven that the most effective way to prevent graffiti is to remove it promptly. With this Program in place, the City would like to assist residents interested in immediately removing graffiti from their property,” the City explained.

The 2023 Anti-Graffiti Paint Program does not include costs to sandblast or remove graffiti in alternative manners, and the Program is not retroactive.
