Written reprimand for former Nipawin doctor

A written reprimand will be part of the file of Dr. Albert Albertyn, who formerly practiced in Nipawin for years, before moving his practice to Warman.

Albertyn was charged with criminal harassment in May 2022, and subsequently breached his release conditions by contacting his ex-girlfriend.

Last September, he surrendered to police custody and remained in jail until his conviction in November.

For his criminal charges, Albertyn received a 79-day jail sentence, but is now also censured by the College of Physicians and Surgeons.

In a council decision made on March 27, 2023, the College also ordered Albertyn to pay legal costs of $900 before May 1 for unprofessional conducts.
