Local family gives big donation to Rose Garden Hospice

A family with roots in Prince Albert’s construction industry recently gave a massive donation to the Rose Garden Hospice.

On Thursday, Glen and Chris Holowachuk presented a gift of $20,000 to the Hospice.

When asked why the big donation was made, Glen said they wanted to give back after closing their business.

“We closed our construction company in 2022,” he said. “We just decided that it had done so well for us in the construction business that we felt that we would like to give something back to the community.”

The Holowachuk’s owned Chrislen Builders from 1978 till it was dissolved last year.

Glen said his family wanted to support another family that has been a part of their lives.

“We have ties to the Daschuk family from years ago, we just felt that it was a worthwhile project that they were pursuing so we thought we’d just contribute to it.”

The father of Chris Holowachuk, Glen’s wife, worked for Daschuk Construction for years. Glen said, their first home was constructed by them.

The Hospice is still under construction but is due to be completed by this spring.
