Man in serious condition after incident with police

A 40-year-old man is in critical condition after an early morning incident with Prince Albert Police.

At around 2:23am Saturday, police conducted a traffic stop on 13th Street West. It was believed the black car had been connected to a stolen vehicle investigation.

At some point during the interaction, police members deployed conducted energy weapons (CEW) and subsequently arrested the man after.

Upon his arrest, the man went into medical distress and was rushed to hospital where he remains in serious condition.

The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) has since been notified and are investigating the incident. PAPS added that there are no other public safety concerns as a result of this incident and will not comment further.
