Crusaders, Marauders share successful weekend at basketball regionals

It was an all Prince Albert affair on the podium at both the 5A girls and boys regional basketball championships this weekend.
Carlton took home first place in the boy’s finals, defeating St. Mary’s 111-87 for the championship. In the semi-finals, the Crusaders cruised past Moose Jaw’s A.E. Peacock 91-64 while the Marauders demolished their matchup against Lloydminster 91-54 to advance.
For the girls, St. Mary finished secured a silver in the tournament after falling to Swift Current 76-44 in the finals. Carlton took home the bronze by a 73-57 score over A.E. Peacock. To get to the championship, it was the battle of Prince Albert where the Marauders edged the Cru, 50-45.
The boys and girls teams will now get set to host the Provincial HOOPLA tournament which is scheduled to start on Thursday.
